FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How many lessons will I need to pass my VORT (Vehicle On Road Test)?
The amount of driving lessons you need to pass the VORT is individual to each driver. Your strengths and weaknesses as a driver must be considered to determine whether you are ready to take your VORT.

Do I have to complete 75 logged hours before completing my VORT?
No. As a learner, you can take your VORT (Vehicle On Road Test) at anytime, but you won't be issued with your P's (Provisional Licence) until you have completed the mandatory supervised 75 logbook hours, the Hazard Perception Test (HPT) and have held your Learner's Permit (L's) for a minimum of 12 months, or 6 months if you are over the age of 25.

When and where can I sit my Hazard Perception Test?
You can sit your Hazard Perception Test (HPT) whenever you like. It can be completed before or after you receive your P's. The HPT can be completed either in person at a Service SA, or online on the Service SA website.

Do you offer driving packages?
Yes, full day and VORT packages are available, tailored to your individual needs. Please refer to the Bookings page to get in contact.

What are the differences between the VORT and Logbook (CBT&A) methods?
VORT stands for Vehicle On Road Test, whilst CBT&A stands for Competency Based Training & Assessment course. Learners can gain their Provisional Licences (P's) through completion of the VORT or the CBT&A. The VORT is a test that a learner can take either before or after achieving their 75 logbook hours and the CBT&A is a series of thorough practical driving sessions, focusing on specific topics.
Learn more about the differences between the VORT and Logbook (CBT&A) methods by referring to the My Licence website.
We do not offer CBT&A at Turning Point Driving Lessons.

What do I need to bring to a driving lesson?
Your Learner's Permit (physical or digital [via MySAGOV app]), your logbook and payment.
